We are writing to strongly support Joe Laurin for Select Board. Joe has been a dedicated neighbor and a key part of our community for many years. His commitment to his family and his neighbors reflects the values we hold dear in Concord. As a strategist at AT Kearney Consulting, Joe brings valuable expertise in organizational planning and optimization. This experience, combined with his strong leadership, makes him uniquely equipped to tackle the challenges our town faces. We are fortunate to have someone with his skills running for Select Board. There are important issues facing Concord, including our town’s spending. 

Over the past 14 years, spending has significantly outpaced inflation. Meanwhile, real estate taxes are expected to increase over the next six years, not to mention the millions in planned capital spending over the next decade. This trajectory poses a serious threat to the affordability of our town, especially for seniors and long-term residents who may struggle to keep up with rising costs. We also risk losing affluent residents who contribute greatly to our tax base and have the flexibility to choose where they live. 

Now, more than ever, it’s important that we make thoughtful decisions for the future of Concord. We both fully endorse Joe Laurin for Select Board and encourage everyone to vote on April 8 or take advantage of early voting. Let’s make sure our voices are heard and help shape a more sustainable future for our community.
