I’m writing to express my enthusiastic support for Joe Laurin’s candidacy for the Concord Select Board. I have the good fortune of being a neighbor of the Laurin family and have enjoyed getting to know Joe in the years we have lived in Concord. I consider Joe to be part of the fabric of our community — the kind of neighbor who shows up, who rolls up his sleeves, and who believes that giving back to one’s community is both a responsibility and privilege.

Over the last year especially, Joe and I have spent time discussing matters pertinent to Concord, and I appreciate his focused engagement and involvement in making Concord an even stronger community. He has a practical, level-headed approach to decision-making, which I believe is a necessary attribute of any Select Board member. He doesn’t shy away from difficult topics; though he might already have an opinion formed, he will always listen to others and has a willingness to change his mind. As we head into a period of both exceptional opportunity for development in Concord but also a need for fiscal responsibility, Joe is exactly the kind of process-oriented, transparent leader we need.

Joe’s dedication to our community, combined with his analytical thinking and business acumen, make him an excellent choice for the Select Board. Joe will bring much needed perspective and efficiency to our town’s governance and management, and I encourage you to support Joe Laurin for Concord’s Select Board.
