As reported in The Bridge, excessive spending and rising residential tax burdens are putting at risk our town’s ability to ensure it is affordable for all residents. The Select Board’s embarrassing lack of transparency on process and decision-making has recently been highlighted.
These shortcomings and many others, combined with a lack of real progress on core issues (e.g., cell service in town), suggests we need significant change in our town’s leadership. If you share my concerns and believe our town could benefit from a Select Board member that would bring a proven track record of objective analysis, heightened transparency and collaborative engagement, please consider Joe Laurin for Select Board.
I’ve gotten to know Joe over the last decade primarily through a business-owner peer group we both belong to which meets regularly throughout the year. I’m endorsing Joe because I’ve observed in Joe all of the attributes that are critical for success as a Select Board member.
I know Joe to have the highest level of integrity and transparency. While he is a passionate advocate for his beliefs, he is respectful, open, and tolerant of different perspectives.
Further, Joe is analytical with a problem-solver mentality. He views challenges as opportunities for improvement, which reflects his years of professional consultancy and leadership.
Finally, Joe has consistently engaged in the Concord community as evinced by his local volunteer work, which includes The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle, Kicks for Cancer, Boy Scouts, and youth sports.
I believe Joe represents the fair, analytical, fresh perspective we need in Concord and that he will devote himself and his numerous talents to turn many of our town’s biggest challenges into opportunities to improve our community for all its residents. Please join me in voting for Joe for Select Board.
